Construction of Family Healthcare Centre

CSP, in collaboration with partner organizations and under the umbrella of government health departments, has constructed and established 63 Family Healthcare Centres in remote and highly vulnerable areas, focusing on Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH). These community-based centres, administrated by 63 trained Community Midwives (CMWs) are providing accessible and quality healthcare services to underserved populations. CSP has equipped all the FHC centres with medical instruments, medicines and other essential supplies. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to health, well-being, and gender equality, ensuring that even the most marginalized communities have access to essential healthcare services.

Capacity building and refresher sessions for CMWs at districts level

CSP is organizing capacity-building and refresher sessions for Community Midwives (CMWs) at the district level and providing skilled trainers with government approved manuals. These courses are designed to update and strengthen the knowledge, skills, and practices of CMWs for enabling them to effectively replicate quality services in Family Healthcare Centres. Practical demonstrations are also included to ensure hands-on learning, while government health authorities oversee proper monitoring and feedback by ensuring that the training translates into improved maternal, newborn, and child health services at the community level.

Construction, repairing and renovation of government health infrastructures

CSP is supporting government health facilities (DHQs, THQs, RHCs, BHUs and FLCFs) by constructing new structures, repairing the damaged portions and renovating the poorly maintained buildings for ensuring proper use for long term and to improve access to quality healthcare in underserved and remote areas. By upgrading existing facilities and building new structures, CSP ensures that communities have safe, functional, and well-equipped healthcare centres. These improvements enhance service delivery, support maternal, newborn, and child health, and strengthen the overall capacity of the public health system, making essential healthcare more accessible to vulnerable populations.

Strengthening of Government Health Facilities

CSP is strengthening healthcare facilities by providing essential medical equipment, medicines, and furniture, ensuring that health centres are well-equipped to meet the needs of patients. By enhancing the capacity and functionality of these facilities, CSP enables healthcare providers to deliver timely and quality medical services, particularly in remote and underserved communities. This support not only improves patient care but also contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the health system, ensuring that communities have reliable access to essential healthcare services.

Health Education and Awareness Campaigns

An important aim of CSP is to promote preventive healthcare and community awareness while strengthening local health systems. The centres conduct health education sessions on hygiene, nutrition, sanitation, and disease prevention to reduce the spread of communicable diseases and manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension. They also identify serious cases and refer them to higher-level hospitals for specialized treatment. By engaging local communities and encouraging participation, CSP works toward sustainable healthcare development, reduced health inequalities, and improved quality of life in remote areas of Pakistan.
